This is a Chinese carving that envelope the full 360° of this large Sugilite Specimen. The Sugilite varies from deep purple and fuchsia tones to gel outcroppings that capture light in slight ways to give the piece an excellent vibrancy. The carving features a host of Chinese symbolism and exquisite attention to detail. This carving dates to the late 1980s. Back at this time, Sugilite was very new to the gemological industry and did not hold the price per carat value it does today. Thus, a very significant chunk of premium Sugilite was used to make this beautiful piece. Ideal to be displayed in a museum like manner. By today's standards, it is impractical to replicate this carving due to the fact that raw naked rough material of this size, color and quality material are virtually unavailable.
